Cancel your Azure subscription

You can cancel your Azure subscription in the Azure portal if you no longer demand it.

Although not required, Microsoft recommends that y'all take the following actions earlier you cancel your subscription:

  • Support your data. For example, if you lot're storing information in Azure storage or SQL, download a copy. If you take a virtual machine, save an prototype of it locally.
  • Shut downwards your services. Get to the resources page in the direction portal, and Stop any running virtual machines, applications, or other services.
  • Consider migrating your information. See Motion resources to new resource group or subscription.
  • Delete all resources and all resource groups.
  • If you have any custom roles that reference this subscription in AssignableScopes, you should update those custom roles to remove the subscription. If you endeavor to update a custom function after you abolish a subscription, you might get an mistake. Who can cancel a subscription?

The table beneath describes the permission required to cancel a subscription.

Cancel subscription in the Azure portal

  1. Select your subscription from the Subscriptions page in the Azure portal.
  2. Select the subscription that you want to cancel.

Notation

Partners can suspend or cancel a subscription if requested by a customer or in cases of nonpayment or fraud. For more data, see Suspend or abolish a subscription.

Cancel a support programme

If you purchased your support plan through the Azure website, Azure portal, or if you have one under a Microsoft Customer Agreement, you can cancel a support programme. If you purchased your support plan through a Microsoft representative or partner, contact them for assist.

Cancel a support plan bought from the Azure portal

  1. In the Azure portal, navigate to Cost Management + Billing.
  2. On the Overview page, find your plan and and then select it.
  3. On the support plan page, select Cancel.
  4. In the Abolish back up window, verify that y'all want to cancel and select Aye, abolish.

Cancel a support plan for a Microsoft Customer Agreement

  1. In the Azure portal, navigate to Toll Management + Billing.
  2. Nether Billing, select Recurring charges.
  3. On the right-hand side for the support plan line item, select the ellipsis (...) and select Turn off auto-renewal.

What happens after subscription cancellation?

Delete gratis trial or pay-as-you-go subscriptions

Yous can delete your subscription three days after you abolish it. The Delete subscription option isn't available until three days after you abolish your subscription.

  1. Expect iii days later on the date you canceled the subscription.

  4. Select Overview, and then select Delete subscription.

Note: 90 days later on you cancel a subscription, the subscription will automatically be deleted.

Delete other subscriptions

The just subscription types that you lot can manually delete are free trial and pay-equally-you-go subscriptions. All other subscription types are deleted only through the subscription cancellation process. In other words, you can't delete a subscription directly unless it's a gratis trial or pay-every bit-you-go subscription. Reactivate a subscription

If you cancel your subscription with Pay-As-You-Go rates accidentally, yous tin reactivate it in the Azure portal.

If your subscription isn't a subscription with Pay-As-You-Get rates, contact support inside 90 days of cancellation to reactivate your subscription.

Why don't I come across the Abolish Subscription option on the Azure portal?

How do I delete my Azure Business relationship?

I need to remove my account including all my personal information. I already canceled my active (Free Trial) subscriptions. I don't have any active subscriptions, and would like to totally delete my account.

  • If you lot have an Azure Agile Directory business relationship via your organization, the Azure Advert administrator could delete the business relationship. After that, your services are disabled. That means your virtual machines are de-allocated, temporary IP addresses are freed, and storage is read-merely.   • If you don't have an Azure AD business relationship via your organization, you lot can cancel then delete your Azure subscriptions then remove your credit card from the account.
