Austin Restaurants That Has Grass Fed Beef

Sometimes we just want to sink our teeth into a juicy burger! But as we know, not all meat is created equal. We want our meat grass-fed for as long as possible and finding grass-fed burgers is not always an easy endeavor to undertake. The good news is that it's becoming more realistic to assume that there's a restaurant close by that can cater to our natural, locavore needs. We've rounded up some of the options in Austin where you can go to satisfy your grass-fed burger cravings.

Odd Duck

The menu here is inspired by Austin's culture as well as the locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients which means that the burger won't always be exactly the same. The patty, however, will always be insanely delicious. Made with 100% grass-fed beef sourced from Richardson Farms, where the cattle are 'entirely' grass-fed in the fields and free of hormones and antibiotics. The patty is usually a mix of beef brisket, chuck eye and Wagyu ribeye, ground to texturized lip-smacking flavor perfection. It's also huge but so delicious that you'll probably finish it anyway.

Our pick: Wagyu burger. Only served at lunch and usually topped with green chile and some form of cheese served on a freshly baked Parker House bun.

Jacoby's Restaurant & Mercantile

Burgers don't get much fresher than they do here. Jacoby's is a family run business, which offers a truly farm-to-table (or ranch-to-table) dining experience. The burger patties are made from top-quality Jacoby Brand Beef sourced from their own ranch. Their cattle eat only the best, pasture grass and hay, and are finished on hormone and antibiotic-free feed specially mixed by Jacoby Feed and Seed. The meat is hand-cut and dry-aged for 21-28 days. The burgers come with a half-pound beef patty. There's a burger on the kiddie's menu too.

Our Pick: Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, and mayo.
